TOLEDO, Ohio – Trace Hatfield has been named Mid-American Conference Co-Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
Hatfield fueled a Toledo offensive attack that led to a series sweep over Akron this past weekend. Hatfield hit .600, slugged 1.067, and hit two home runs while tallying eight RBIs in the Rockets' weekend series against the Zips. He drove in two runs in the series opener on Friday to help Toledo start the weekend off with a win, then exploded in Saturday's doubleheader. Hatfield was a combined 7-for-8 with two home runs, five RBIs, and five runs scored in the two games on Saturday.
