The 2021 calendar year delivered highs and lows for the University of Toledo’s athletic department. There were Mid-American Conference triumphs, a football season that never quite lifted off, and a stunning exit at the administrative level.
Perhaps most notable was simply making it through the men’s and women’s basketball seasons as the United States dealt with the coronavirus pandemic. And everyone was thankful that the fall sports calendar returned to normal.
Here’s a look back at the top five UT moments of 2021:
1. Men’s basketball wins the Mid-American Conference
The Rockets began the MAC schedule with six consecutive wins and victories in 11 of their first 12 games.
