Toledo's Quinyon Mitchell reaches NFL mountaintop in rookie season

NEW ORLEANS — Many NFL players have Hall-of-Fame careers and never make it to the Super Bowl, let alone win it.

Rookie Quinyon Mitchell, the Eagles’ No. 22 overall pick in last spring’s draft out of the University of Toledo, hoisted the Vince Lombardi Trophy inside Caesars Superdome on Sunday after Philadelphia won Super Bowl LIX.

"The message the whole week was do our job, and it don’t have to be close,” Mitchell told reporters after the game. “We knew if we come out and execute, we would dominate this game."

It was all smiles for Philadelphia as green, black, and white confetti came pouring down.
