Chris Meyers keeps making history.
The Toledo baseball star was named the Mid-American Conference player of the year Wednesday, becoming the first player in program history to earn that honor.
“There was not another hitter in the conference more feared and more dangerous than Chris,” UT coach Rob Reinstetle said.
The junior from Miamisburg tied the school records with 15 home runs while batting .378 with 55 runs batted in, leading the MAC in all three categories. Meyers is the league’s first Triple Crown winner since Marshall’s Tom Kuempel in 1998. Meyers also led the MAC in slugging percentage (.
