Toledo's Maxen Hook, Darius Alexander ready to shine at NFL Combine

If Maxen Hook had been the University of Toledo player who surged up draft boards at the Senior Bowl last month, it wouldn’t have surprised NFL front office personnel.

They were already talking about him last year as an under-the-radar draft prospect. So much so that Senior Bowl executive director Jim Nagy was set to extend an invitation to Hook, but the 5-foot-11, 193-pound safety returned to UT for a fifth year.

Hook led the Rockets with 107 tackles in 2024, becoming just the third Rocket to be a four-time All-Mid-American Conference selection. He then improved his draft stock during drills in Mobile but missed the game with an injury, ceding attention to former teammate Darius Alexander, who became the week’s breakout star.
