TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Toledo freshman cross country runner Joy Chirchir came in 143rd place in the 2021 NCAA women's cross country championships on Saturday at Apalachee Regional Park.
Chirchir had a time of 20:46.6 in the 6K event.
"Joy had a tremendous freshman year and will benefit enormously from this experience," Toledo head coach Andrea Grove-McDonough said.
"It's a pretty overwhelming race, and just to get here and get this experience is a win as far as I'm concerned. Anytime you toe the line at a national championship, it's special. No doubt there will be more in her future.
