Two years removed from a Mid-American Conference championship, and despite last season’s 7-6 record, the University of Toledo football team is wrapping up spring practices with a sense of optimism.
“This year is another opportunity,” Toledo coach Jason Candle said. “The MAC championship is long gone. Last year is long gone. If you are worried about either of those two seasons, we’re in deep trouble. It’s a new team and a new sense of urgency. It’s a group of guys that I really like to coach and love to be around. Any time you have that, you have a chance to continue to get better.
