The University of Toledo and Western Michigan traded leads on Saturday afternoon until the Rockets ran away with a 74-61 victory in the Mid-American Conference regular season finale at Savage Arena.
Toledo, which opened the fourth quarter on a 10-3 run to fend off the Broncos, end their regular season on an 11-game win streak. It is the eighth time in program history the Rockets have won 11 or more games in a row.
“I thought it was a good game to fine-tune us before Cleveland,” Toledo coach Tricia Cullop said. “I'm really glad that we had two good teams come in here to play before we head there, because I thought there's still work to be done for us to get better.
