The University of Toledo women’s basketball team will play in the Women’s National Invitation Tournament, and the Rockets could get some revenge along the way.
UT (26-5) hosts Houston Baptist (16-10) at 7 p.m. Friday at Savage Arena. The Huskies won the Southland Conference with a 12-2 record.
If the Rockets win, they will play the winner of Kent State (18-11) and Youngstown State (24-6). In their only meeting this season, Toledo beat the Golden Flashes 69-60.
This is UT’s 10th trip to the WNIT and eighth during the Tricia Cullop era. The Rockets won the 2011 WNIT with a 76-68 victory over USC at Savage Arena.
