Toledo women's basketball turning the corner after inconsistent couple of months

Ball State has earned its position in the catbird seat by starting 10-0 in the Mid-American Conference. But the two-time defending champion is rounding into form.

That would be the University of Toledo, which has labored through most of the season unable to capture the elite level it played with in recent years. Last week might have marked a turning point.

“I would say both ends of the court, most definitely [we’re finding our groove],” senior point guard Sophia Wiard said. “I think defensively we’ve been picking it up a little bit. But it’s been good to see everybody put the ball in the net.
