A torrid third quarter flipped the scoreboard in Toledo’s favor on Saturday, leading to an 80-70 Senior Day win over Central Michigan.
UT outscored the Chippewas 28-22 during the quarter, shooting 77 percent and scoring 11 points off six Central turnovers. After grabbing the lead at the 7-minute mark, the Rockets never trailed the rest of the game.
The biggest sequence was a 10-0 run that featured back-to-back 3s by Kendall Carruthers and Nan Garcia.
The closest Central got in the fourth quarter was five points.
For the third consecutive game, Toledo shot better than 50 percent.
