CLEVELAND — The flashbacks were enough to unsettle Toledo.
Then the Rockets decided to do something about it.
Staring down the barrel of a disastrous season-altering loss, UT put together a second half that evoked its 14-game winning streak, which includes 12 consecutive double-digit victories.
No. 12 came on Wednesday in the first round of the Mid-American Conference tournament, as the Rockets overcame a 10-point halftime deficit to beat eighth-seeded Western Michigan 72-61.
“Everybody is playing for their basketball life,” Toledo coach Tricia Cullop said. “Seniors tend to rise to the occasion.”
UT’s fourth- and fifth-year players did exactly that.
