AKRON — Toledo women’s basketball trailed Akron after the first minute of Wednesday night’s game.
The remaining 39 minutes were pretty much all Rockets.
After the very early 3-0 deficit, UT ripped off 14 straight points and never let the Zips back in the game, picking up an 88-66 win in a tune-up for Saturday’s Battle of I-75.
Quinesha Lockett’s 21 points on 10 of 15 shooting led the way for the Toledo, but Lockett was just one of five Rockets in double figures. Jessica Cook and Hannah Noveroske had 12 points each, and Nan Garcia and Soleil Barnes scored 11 apiece.
