CLEVELAND — As all of Savage Arena celebrated the University of Toledo’s third consecutive outright Mid-American Conference championship Saturday, coach Tricia Cullop said she hopes cutting down the nets never gets old.
“It sure is a lot of fun,” Cullop said.
Even more so when it occurs after clinching an NCAA tournament bid, which is what the Rockets arrive in Cleveland waiting to secure for a second straight year. Their path to Saturday’s MAC championship game begins at 11 a.m. Wednesday against No. 8 seed Western Michigan.
Toledo is an obvious favorite, with five starters returning and another regular-season title already secured.
