DeKALB, Ill. — The University of Toledo women’s basketball team was well on its way to another Mid-American Conference victory on Saturday.
That was until Northern Illinois used a 31-13 fourth-quarter advantage to overtake the Rockets and prevail 67-66 at the Convocation Center.
With the game knotted at 66, UT had an inbounds play with 8.7 seconds left but turned the ball over to NIU, which used a timeout with 7.2 seconds remaining.
NIU’s A’Jah Davis was fouled on a layup attempt with 1.4 seconds on the clock, and she hit the first of two attempts for the game’s final point.
