BOWLING GREEN — The University of Toledo women’s basketball never saw its lead over Bowling Green State University slip as the Rockets defeated their Mid-American Conference foe Bowling Green 71-67 on Saturday at the Stroh Center.
As the Falcons fought tooth and nail in the waning minutes of the fourth quarter, Toledo held on to its poise for the victory.
“They ran on our court last year, and that was like the fire this year to just getting [them] back on their home court,” Toledo’s Sophia Wiard, who had a game-high 20 points, said.
The Rockets had lost their previous two Battle of I-75 rivalry games to Bowling Green.
