Toledo women's basketball eager for its national closeup

History will be made at Savage Arena on Wednesday night.

When the University of Toledo and Michigan women’s basketball teams tip off, it will become the first nationally televised regular-season game in program history. And it’s anticipated to be the first regular-season sellout. Fewer than 150 tickets remain for what’s expected to be a standing-room-only crowd.

Tip time is 5 p.m., and the game will air on CBS Sports Network.

“It’s not only about us, it’s about our league,” UT coach Tricia Cullop said. ‘It’s crazy to think with the historic success that this program has had, long before I ever arrived at Toledo, that this is the first nationally televised regular-season game.
