AKRON — Coming off a loss in its Mid-American Conference opener, the University of Toledo women’s basketball team climbed back to the .500 mark Saturday with a 74-57 victory at Akron.
The Rockets outscored the Zips 22-12 in the second quarter and 15-6 in the third to take control of the game.
Sammi Mikonowicz, a Rossford High School graduate, scored 20 points for Toledo (9-3, 1-1 MAC), while Faith Fedd-Robinson had 17 points. Sixteen of Fedd-Robinson’s points came in the first half.
"I'm very proud of our response, especially on the defensive end today," Toledo coach Ginny Boggess said.
