A balanced effort led the Toledo Rockets women’s basketball team past the Detroit Mercy Titans, 77-60, on Friday night at the University of Toledo’s Savage Arena.
Mikaela Boyd led all scorers with 15 points and added 5 rebounds and 5 assists, while Kaayla McIntyre added 13 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 assists. Toledo shot a solid 57.1 percent from the field, including 5-13 from behind the 3-point line.
Meanwhile, the Rockets defense held the Titans to just 43.6 percent shooting. Brittney Jackson led Detroit Mercy with 14 points.
With the win, the Rockets improve to 8-3 on the season and continue to be dominant at home, where they’ve won two straight.
