AKRON — The University of Toledo women’s basketball team saw its three-game win streak come to an end Saturday as the Rockets fell 70-64 to Akron in overtime at James A. Rhodes Arena.
Toledo had trouble containing Zips senior Megan Sefcik as she hit six 3-pointers in scoring a game-high 29 points.
Kaayla McIntyre paced Toledo (12-6, 4-3 MAC) with 17 points, Mikaela Boyd added 15, and Tanaya Beacham had 10.
For Akron (12-6, 3-4 MAC), Caitlin Vari added 13 points and Haliegh Reinoehl 11.
With the score tied at 53, Toledo had the last possession of regulation.
