Feeling like the University of Toledo didn’t show its diverse scoring potential in a season-opening loss at Maine, UT coach Tricia Cullop turned to her bench early and often in the Rockets 84-38 runaway win over Iona on Wednesday in a rare 11 a.m. start at Savage Arena.
Eleven different players scored for Toledo as the Rockets (1-1) earned their first victory of the season in the home opener.
“One thing that we talked about at Maine was I didn’t think we always looked for the best shot,” Cullop said. “We rushed a little bit. I don’t know if it was first-game jitters or the fact that we were facing a good team, but we can do a better job getting more players involved and we needed to.
