DEKALB, Ill. – The University of Toledo women’s basketball team could not overcome a big performance by the top scorer in the Mid-American Conference as the Rockets fell 89-79 to Northern Illinois on Wednesday night at the Convocation Center.
Courtney Woods, who averaged a conference-best 21.7 points per game coming into the game, poured in 38 points on 11-of-19 shooting, a 5-of-10 mark on 3-pointers and a 11-of-14 mark at the foul line.
Woods made five of Northern Illinois’ nine 3-pointers in the game as the Huskies (15-13, 7-10 MAC) shot 47.4 percent from beyond the arc.
