On Wednesday night in mid-Michigan, Toledo proved its pride is still very much intact.
The Rockets, in the final weeks of a grueling season, led from start to finish, save for 43 seconds in the fourth quarter, using a total team effort to beat Central Michigan 72-67.
It was a 40-minute complete performance that’s been missing from UT’s repertoire in recent weeks, as their defense stymied one of the top teams in the Mid-American Conference, and the Rocket offense found creative ways to get the ball in the hoop.
“It’s not typical for us to win with only eight assists,” Toledo coach Tricia Cullop said, “but we had to because that’s what they gave us.
