Toledo fans got their first taste of women’s basketball action on Sunday afternoon at Savage Arena as the Rockets jumped out to an early lead and ran away with an 87-54 exhibition victory over Findlay.
The Rockets started hot in their first time on the floor under new head coach Ginny Boggess, building an 11-5 edge in the opening minutes and not looking back against the NCAA Division II Oilers.
Toledo took a 43-28 lead into the locker room at halftime. At one point in the third quarter, the Rockets orchestrated an 11-0 run that put them up by 27, 60-33.
