ANNAPOLIS — The University of Toledo women’s basketball team saw its three-game winning streak come to an end with a 92-70 loss against No. 10 Maryland in the Navy Classic on Sunday.
Maryland (8-0) never trailed in the contest and held a 70-34 scoring advantage in the paint. The Terrapins shot 60.3 percent (38 of 63) from the field while the Rockets shot 45.3 percent (24 of 53).
The Rockets shot 75 percent (9 of 12) in the first quarter, but cooled off from there as they managed to make just 36 percent (15 of 41) over the final 30 minutes.
