TOLEDO, Ohio – Senior Mason Sykes became Toledo's all-time career home run leader in Wednesday's 12-7 win vs. Bowling Green at Scott Park.
Sykes, who already owns the single-season home run record, slugged his 36th career home run in the bottom of the fourth inning. He passed former Rocket Dan Sherwood (2008-11) to become the most prolific home run hitter in program history.
The historic moment was one of several big offensive moments for both teams on Wednesday. The two squads, who were facing off in non-conference action, swapped leads five times and combined for 24 hits.
