Toledo wins sixth straight with victory at Western Michigan

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – For just the third time in its last 16 trips to University Arena, the University of Toledo men’s basketball team was able to pick up a victory over Western Michigan, topping the Broncos 85-81 on Tuesday night.

The Rockets (14-6, 6-1 MAC) won their sixth straight game and with their second win over Western Michigan this season – Toledo topped the Broncos 84-61 on Jan. 9 at Savage Arena – moved three games ahead of the preseason conference favorites in the Mid-American Conference West Division standings.

With Toledo leading for much of the game, Western Michigan took over the lead 75-74 after back-to-back 3-pointers from Thomas Wilder with 4:40 left in the game.
