Bowling Green, Ohio - The Toledo track and field team competed in the annual Battle of I-75 meet against Bowling Green today. After 18 neck-and-neck events, the competition was declared a tie with each program earning 96 points. The Rockets earned 10 first-place finishes on the day.
"Overall I'm pretty happy with the meet," head coach Linh Nguyen said. "Across the board we had a lot of really good performances. You'd rather win than tie, but we had to scratch a few of our top distance kids because of nagging injuries. Not having [sophomore Athena Welsh] and [junior Jennifer Lichter] made a difference, and [senior Petronela Simiuc] almost didn't run.
