A 10-day layoff and frigid conditions didn’t slow down the University of Toledo.
The Rockets ended the regular season on Saturday with a bulldozing 49-14 win over Akron in the Glass Bowl, extending their winning streak to three games and improving their bowl destination.
Toledo used the recipe it’s brewed throughout the month of November — stout defense, a dash of running back Bryant Koback, and a slice of quarterback Dequan Finn. It added up to 582 yards, seven touchdowns, and a happy football team.
“It felt great,” said Koback, a Springfield graduate who rushed for 135 yards and two touchdowns and caught two passes for 52 yards and a touchdown.
