For a Nevadan who has spent 13 of his 21 years west of the Mississippi, returning to the University of Toledo for a second stint wasn’t a difficult decision.
Sage could be selective after being part of a staff dismissal at Nevada, and when Jason Candle called with a job opening at Toledo, moving 2,138 miles across I-80 didn’t sound so bad.
“That’s a huge reason why my wife and I chose to take the Toledo job,” Sage said. “You’ve got to trust the head coach that you’re with.
