CLEVELAND, Ohio – Toledo freshmen Mercy Kinyanjui and Dominic Serem were named the Mid-American Conference Men's and Women's Cross Country Runners of the Week, as announced by the league on Tuesday morning. This marks the first conference honors for Kinyanjui and Serem.
Kinyanjui led the Toledo women's cross country team to a fifth-place finish in the Sean Earl Loyola Lakefront Invitational in Chicago on Friday afternoon. Kinyanjui finished the women's 6K championship race with a time of 19:43.03, her best finish as a Rocket. The Toledo women's team totaled 131 points in the meet, good for a fifth-place finish in a national field.
