KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Toledo baseball team nearly rallied from a pair of large deficits on Saturday afternoon at Western Michigan but had to settle for a doubleheader split against the Broncos. The Rockets (8-12) came back from being down 7-0 in the opener to notch a 21-14 victory. In Game Two, UT fell behind 5-0 and clawed back to within 7-6 until WMU (9-9) ultimately prevailed by a 15-6 margin.
"Today was a rough day for our pitching," Head Coach Rob Reinstetle said. "We were constantly behind in counts, didn't execute pitches, and gave them way too many free base runners.
