The University of Toledo softball team defeated Michigan State in both ends of a dramatic Friday afternoon doubleheader at Scott Park, winning the opener 5-3 in extra innings before walking off the second game 6-5 by scoring four runs in the bottom of the seventh.
The doubleheader was originally scheduled to be played in East Lansing, Mich., but the teams announced Thursday the games would move to Toledo because of poor field conditions at Michigan State’s home stadium. The Rockets batted as the away team in the first game and as the home team in the second game.
