DeKALB, Ill. – Toledo softball snapped Northern Illinois' seven-game winning streak as it defeated the Huskies, 6-3, on Friday afternoon at Mary M. Bell Field. With the victory, the Rockets improve to 24-32 overall and 11-11 in the Mid-American Conference, while NIU falls to 27-19 on the season and 13-9 in the league.
Toledo's offense was propelled by two-hit efforts from senior second baseman (2-for-4, RBI, two runs), junior outfielder (2-for-3, run), sophomore third baseman (2-for-3, 2B, RBI) and junior outfielder (2-for-2, RBI). Sophomore shortstop (1-for-3) contributed an RBI double.
In the circle, sophomore starter (10-10) secured the victory and allowed three runs on eight hits and three walks in five innings of work.
