TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo softball team swept its doubleheader with Kent State on Saturday afternoon, 8-4 in the opener, followed by a 4-3 final in the nightcap. The Rockets have now won eight straight Mid-American Conference games to improve their league record to 9-2, and have a 5-0 home record at Scott Park.
Toledo broke ground with three runs in the first inning of Game One, but Kent State overcame the deficit in the second and took a one-run lead in the fourth. The Rockets rallied with four runs in the fourth and added an insurance run in the sixth to make it 8-4, which stood as the final margin.
