This is the first of three articles featuring the contenders for Toledo’s starting quarterback job.
Entering his fifth season in the program, University of Toledo quarterback Eli Peters knows the offensive system so well he can often anticipate the play call from the sideline.
“I feel extremely comfortable, as I should be in my fifth year in the offense,” Peters said. “I really feel like I have a full grasp of everything that is going on even to the point of why we are calling certain plays.”
That knowledge and familiarity with the system coupled with the experience he has the last two seasons in making 10 combined starts make Peters a strong candidate to be the starting quarterback this season.
