TOLEDO, Ohio – Sophomore Nakiah Black scored a season-high 24 points to lead Toledo to a 76-56 win over arch-rival Bowling Green on Saturday before 4,757 fans in Savage Arena. With the dominating performance, the Rockets improve to 13-6 overall, 5-3 in the Mid-American Conference.
Black, who nailed a season-best 6-of-8 from three-point range, scored 11 points in the second quarter as Toledo outscored the Falcons 23-5 to take a commanding 39-18 lead into the locker room at halftime. The Rockets extinguished any hope for a BGSU comeback by opening up the third stanza on a 15-5 run, giving them a 54-23 lead with 5:50 to play in the period.
