For University of Toledo men's basketball coach Tod Kowalczyk, the change to a one-time transfer rule in college athletics, which has recently been gaining momentum, is likely in the cards at the Division I level.
The NCAA transfer waiver working group is looking into a proposal that would allow student-athletes to transfer between four-year schools once and still be eligible immediately. This immediate eligibility will only be granted provided the student-athlete is in good standing academically and doesn't leave under disciplinary suspension.
“I've felt for a long time that it is inevitable,” Kowalczyk said. “It's going to happen.
