The wound incurred on Wednesday at Bowling Green lingered the past few days for the University of Toledo women’s basketball team.
The only way the Rockets could make the pain disappear was to get back on the basketball court and start a new winning streak, so that’s what they did on Saturday.
UT’s 76-63 win over Akron kept the Rockets within striking distance of the top of the Mid-American Conference, and let the rest of the league know that the defending champions are not going away quietly.
“This was huge for us,” senior guard Jayda Jansen said.
