Each week, The Blade will recap the most interesting Toledo football grades released by Pro Football Focus, the scouting website that evaluates players’ performance on every play of every game. For context, grades are based on a 0-100 scale.
Toledo (79.3): The Rockets grade out No. 77 overall through four games, ranking third in the Mid-American Conference. Only Ball State (53) and Northern Illinois (73) are higher, and the Ball State number is stunning considering its 1-3 record. The statistics paint the picture that everyone knows: UT should compete for a MAC championship. But it also shows what’s become all too familiar in recent seasons — the Rockets are an underachieving program.
