CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - Toledo jumped out to a 26-8 advantage in the first quarter en route to a 76-60 win over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in its season opener on Saturday in the American Bank Center.
The Rockets (1-0) were led by junior tri-captain Jay-Ann Bravo-Harriott with a team-high 16 points. Sophomore Mikaela Boyd was also in double figures and finished with a career-high 10 points.
The Islanders (0-1) was paced by Ashanti Plummer with a contest-beset 17 points.
"I liked the effort and intensity that I saw from our team today," said Toledo head coach Tricia Cullop.
