A historic season for the University of Toledo men’s tennis team came to an end Saturday with a 4-0 loss at Michigan in the opening round of the NCAA tournament.
The Rockets captured their first Mid-American Conference title in 50 years to punch their ticket to the NCAAs, but they were beaten soundly by the Wolverines, the seventh-ranked team in the country. Michigan captured the doubles point when Patrick Maloney and Nino Ehrenschneider defeated Toledo’s Mark Galic and Adam Kovac 6-1, and Ondrej Styler and Jacob Bickersteth downed UT’s Luis Kleinschnitz and Matias Olivero 6-0.
The Wolverines wrapped up the victory by winning three singles matches in straight sets.
