OXFORD, Ohio — The streak continues.
On Tuesday, Toledo defeated Mid-American Conference foe Miami 75-72 for the 16th consecutive time, an unheard-of streak against a comparable opponent that spans three different presidential administrations.
The RedHawks are one of the top shooting teams in the MAC, but Toledo’s No. 1-ranked defense held Miami scoreless for more than six minutes in the second half, a stretch that included seven straight missed field goals.
The most recent time Miami beat UT, Tod Kowalczyk was in his first season as coach of the Rockets and Barack Obama was in his first term as president.
