The Toledo men’s basketball team will have a marquee opponent on its schedule next season.
The Rockets have signed an agreement with Michigan State for a game at the Breslin Center in East Lansing. The game was previously scheduled for the 2020-21 season, but was pushed back a year because of the coronavirus pandemic.
It will be the ninth meeting between the schools, with Michigan State holding a 5-3 advantage. They last played on Nov. 20, 2009, when the second-ranked Spartans, led by Draymond Green, topped UT 75-62.
Toledo upset No. 14 Michigan State 81-76 at the Breslin Center during the 2002-03 season under coach Stan Joplin, a former assistant under Michigan State coach Tom Izzo.
