KENT, Ohio — The University of Toledo suffered its worst Mid-American Conference loss of the Tod Kowalczyk era on Tuesday, a 105-65 pummeling by Kent State at the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center.
The previous record was 30 points, a 110-80 loss to Nate Oats-coached Buffalo.
This is the third 30-point loss and the eighth double-digit defeat for the Rockets this season.
“This is as embarrassing and humiliating a loss as we’ve had on my watch here,” Kowalczyk said on the postgame radio show. “I don’t know what it is this year about Kent State, but both the home and road games we just didn’t compete.
