The University of Toledo men’s basketball season is over.
The 20-12 Rockets, who won their fourth consecutive outright Mid-American Conference title, were not selected for the NIT and turned down bids to the CBI and CIT.
Previously, regular-season conference champions had automatic bids to the NIT. This is the first season of a new format that guarantees two teams from the ACC, Big East, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-12, and SEC based on NET rankings.
The 20 remaining teams are selected by the NIT committee.
The last time Toledo did not compete in a postseason tournament was the 2017-18 season.
