OXFORD, Ohio — Nothing was going Toledo’s way in the first half on Tuesday.
Miami was torching the Rockets from the 3-point line, and they needed a boost at the other end of the court.
A spark in the form of instant offense off the bench was required but never materialized.
Miami led 45-30 at the half, outscoring UT 17-0 in bench points. The final score was 92-80 in favor of the RedHawks, who had a 32-4 advantage from the bench. Three Miami reserves had more points than UT’s entire bench.
“They can give us more points,” UT coach Tod Kowalczyk said.
