CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — The University of Toledo men’s basketball team got a pair of 20-point efforts from J.T. Shumate and RayJ Dennis in defeating University of Northern Iowa 83-75 on Tuesday at the McLeod Center.
Shumate had 24 points, notching his third-straight 20-point game, and made 10-of-19 shots from the field. He also grabbed six rebounds for the Rockets (6-3).
Dennis had 21 points on 6-of-12 from the field, 2-of-4 from 3-point range, and 7-of-7 at the free-throw line, while tallying five rebounds and five assists.
"This was a big win for our program against the defending Missouri Valley Conference champions," UT coach Tod Kowalczyk said in a statement.
