The Midwest will be the University of Toledo men’s basketball program’s bread-and-butter recruiting territory for eternity.
Ohio, Indiana, and Michigan produce some of the nation’s best Division I players each year. But the world is not flat, as evidenced by UT’s 2021-22 roster, which features four foreign-born players.
“I think there’s a prestige about going to college in the United States, and obviously Division I basketball speaks for itself with the national TV, the recognition, and the crowd support,” Rockets coach Tod Kowalczyk said. “They are shocked at the crowds and the facilities.”
Toledo will have players from England (AJ Edu), Canada (Keshaun Saunders), Iceland (Arnor Eythorsson), and Romania (Mihai Carcoana).
