YOUNGSTOWN — The University of Toledo’s defensive woes continued Saturday.
The Rockets (6-5) lost 93-87 at Youngstown State, allowing the Penguins to shoot nearly 50 percent and make 12 3-pointers.
Youngstown State (6-5) was led by Toledo transfer EJ Farmer, who scored 20 points on 8-of-15 shooting.
“Tough loss for us today, but I thought we started to get our grit and edge back,” Toledo coach Tod Kowalczyk said. “Our bench played well today, especially in the second half. Their energy helped us get back in the game to take the lead and gave us a fighting chance.
